About the event
AI has made high-quality answers abundant. What remains valuable is deep understanding: the ability to model a situation, choose goals, weigh constraints, and defend a decision. In this talk, we argue that laser-focused education in mathematical and scientific thinking matters more than ever. The point isn’t to out-compute AI; it’s to govern it—turning powerful tools into reliable leverage for learning and life.
We’ll explore four plausible AI futures—from today’s assistant tools, to oracular systems, to ecosystems of competing AIs, and even a thought-experiment where one system coordinates production. For each future, we will discuss the skills that endure: specification, estimation, trade-off literacy, experimentation, and clear communication.
