You may submit an application while your child is in Grade 5 or Grade 6.
With only five spots available each year for incoming Grade 7 students, we encourage families to apply early to secure their child’s place. We only admit students at the start of Grade 7, and do not accept new students in Grade 8.

While academic performance provides helpful context, it represents only a small part of our admissions decision. At ÜNI Academy, we place far greater weight on a student’s genuine curiosity, perseverance, creativity, and a family’s commitment to supporting the student through the hard work ahead.
We assess these qualities in two ways: first, through the written application (including applicant's essay), and second, in a meeting with each candidate and their family. In this conversation, we look for enthusiasm, thoughtful questions, and a willingness to embrace challenges—more so than just high grades. Strong marks won’t guarantee admission, and weaker marks won’t necessarily block it. We’re searching for character and passion: students who are eager to dig deeply into ideas and families ready to support them every step of the way.

Instead of a traditional open house, we host our Summer Enrichment Series—free lectures (limited to 5 families per session) designed to give you and your child a hands-on preview of our teaching style. These sessions function like “mini open houses,” allowing you to:
Experience our one-on-one mentorship and mastery-based approach
See how we integrate field experiences and collaborative problem-solving
Ask questions directly of our instructors in a small-group setting
Registration is required to attend these sessions. If you can’t attend the summer series, we’re happy to arrange a private tour and meeting—just contact us at hello@myuni.ca.
